Catriona has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University in collaboration with PCI College. She also holds a diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with PCI College.
While training, Catriona worked with PCI Low Cost Counselling Service and in St Kieran’s Community Centre, Athlone. She also works in private practice and has pre-accredited membership with I.A.C.P.
Catriona provides a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space to listen to and support clients to explore their problems, cope with a crisis, gain insight and awareness into their feelings and behaviour. Her areas of therapeutic interest include; anxiety, depression, suicidal feelings, LGBT, sexuality, sexual identity, relationships, childhood trauma/abuse and low self worth.
You may decide to come to counselling because of a difficult time you’ve been going through, such as bereavement, loss, adult or childhood trauma/abuse, relationship breakdown, sexual identity, loss of a job or general unhappiness with your life.
You may want support dealing with feelings of sadness, despair, depression, anxiety, suicidal, anger or low self-worth that you may or may not connect to any particular event.
You may want support overcoming mental health problems such as depression, even if you are already getting other kinds of help from your G.P. or psychiatrist
