Emily holds a Master of Science Medicine in Child Art Psychotherapy from UCD/Mater hospital Dublin. Emily has been working in the area of Mental Health & Education for the past 16 years .After completing two years clinical training in Child& Adolescent Psychiatry ,she now works in a local National School and a Family Therapy Centre, Roscommon. Emily is a pre-accredited member of IAHIP,a member of The National Teaching Council and the Association of Child Art Psychotherapist.
Child Art Psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy which uses the medium of art as its primary mode of communication. Child Art Psychotherapy is useful for children and young people who find it difficult to express their feelings verbally. The overall aim is to allow the child to accomplish personal growth and change by using the art materials in a safe environment.
