Hello, I’m Rachel and I provide counselling for:
- eating disorders
- emotional eating
When the fog of depression, stress or anxiety descends on you – it can leave you unable to see the positives in life. The simplest of tasks can drain you of energy, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, sad or anxious. What tends to happen is that we look for coping mechanisms to manage these uncomfortable feelings. Eating disorders are one such coping mechanism they can distract from how you are feeling for a little while and numb your pain.
Whether you are affected by depression, anxiety, stress and or eating disorders, I will help you become aware of your thinking, your behaviour and your feelings, by using CBT techniques. I provide an empathic, non judgmental and confidential space for you to explore what is going on for you in your life. I will help you understand what is happening for you, and help you change what you can or live more easily with what you can’t.
Having recovered from an eating disorder myself, and experienced periods of anxiety in my life I have the unique insight of being a client and therapist. I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and have a BSc (hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have also completed specialist training in the area of eating disorders and am a Certified Eating Freely Therapist.
So give me a call, or drop me an email to arrange an appointment and we can discuss it further. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you move forward.
